Can the City Save the Farm?

I just came across an article about New Ruralism by Rick Wartzman called Can the City Save the Farm?  The article is published on the New America Foundation website and is an excellent survey of the movement.  He covers its origins in a 1898 book To-Morrow: A Peaceful Path to Real Reform, Ebenezer Howard and follows the movement to its current incarnation.  I found the article very helpful and am interested in your comments.
